Christmas is Coming

There's no two ways about it: autumn is a gorgeous time of year.  I especially love those sunny fall days that are made for wearing light wool jackets and slurping a bowl of stew.  In November, you can start to feel the excitement around the upcoming holidays in the air, but without the harried frenzy that it also brings.  During this rather calm month, I finished up a few small projects, and started a few more.  Most notable is a Christmas wreath, made from twigs I picked up on the side of the road, and fresh lavender leaves.  It was quite a simple project, really just an exercise in tying bunches of branches to a 20" wire wreath form with floral wire.

I'm anticipating a December full of merry-making and fun.  In a few weeks, we're hosting a dinner party for 3 other families, and I couldn't be more excited about filling our house with good food and friends.  We're also planning a movie night birthday party for our soon-to-be 3-year old and her friends.  Lastly, we are making the big turkey for our family Christmas potluck, and it's going to be delicious.

  1. Wow, beautiful wreath. You are so crafty and creative, much more so than me. ;)

Hope things are well and enjoy the merry-making and fun this year. I'll miss our annual get together but I'm sure we'll connect (via FaceTime?) sometime in the holiday season.

    1. Thanks Sheldon! I don't know about that, I seem to remember a certain someone designing and making a certain wedding cake.

We'll be thinking about you over here this Christmas!!
