Getting Organized

A wall calendar with lots of notes and scribbles is the hallmark of a family home.  While I was growing up, my parents religiously used the calendar published by the Dairy Farmers of Canada.  It featured quick dinner recipes made with milk, and came free with our newspaper subscription.

Today, I use an online calendar for myself, and a paper calendar for my family.  I love having our paper wall calendar in our kitchen, because our family meal conversation always seems to center around what we're doing tomorrow/this weekend/next week/etc.

I've been searching for a long time for a good wall calendar.  I really love this one, but there's no space to write notes.  I could get one from an office supply shop, but they look so rigid and would seem out-of-place on our walls.  So I decided to make one.  Nothing fancy, just a simple and quiet calendar that can display all of our appointments and plans in one place.  Feel free to print one out for yourself!  Click on this link, and print in colour on 11x17" paper.

Wishing you all a very happy holiday season, and a joyous new year!

  1. I couldn't live without both paper and electronic calendars either. The one you made is simple and cute. This year I ordered one of these thick one page per day diaries for work. It's the thickness of an encyclopedia and has a hard cover. Let's see how long I use it before I get tired of carrying it around, lol...

    1. I love your description of this encyclopedia-calendar! Perhaps if you add a handle and a pocket, it could double up as a cool bag?
